Patina Patina PatinaMiller was the lead actor in Stephen Schwartz's famous 1972 musical "Pippin" at Broadway. "Pippin" was created by Tony Award winning director Diane Paulus directed "Pippin" that also included Matthew James Thomas and Andrea Martin. Terrence Mann and Matthew James Thomas were the others in the cast. Patina was able to put a modern twist on a role originated by the award-winning Ben Vereen. She mastered the Fosse motions that the show relies so heavily on. Patina received an Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress playing a Leading Role within a Musical. She also won an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical as well as Drama League, Fred and Adele Astaire Award as well as Broadway.com Audience Choice Award nominations for the performance. From December 2012 to Jan. 2013, she was the role of the Lead Player in the American Repertory Theater's production of Pippin. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
